Let’s introduce ourselves!
Hi everyone my name is Joan but everyone calls me Joey…I’m a mother of 3 gorgeous sons, a daughter by marriage and grandmother to 7 grand-babies. I have 2 AMAZING daughter in laws who really are my daughters. I am a wife ready to celebrate our anniversary on December 7. I am a professional photographer along with my husband. I am also a visual artist and manage my art gallery in Old Town Petersburg, Virginia. As you can see I’m also tatted but oh well I’m just being me.
Sometimes I’m questioned why does my painting styles differ from one piece to another. I honestly don’t have an answer. I believe that’s where my Bohemian personality kicks into over drive. No rules or restrictions; free spirited with my creativity. I don’t claim to be an impressionist or a surrealist or even an expert at abstract. I am me and paint from inspiration, and the type of inspiration that pours from my soul. You either love it (me) or you dont….. 
How do I describe my art and style?
My style is very Bohemian with a touch of Gypsy…I come from a merge of Spaniard, Indigenous and African…with a beautiful touch of the Arabic. I use those words that describe my personality. I Use words that describe what my soul portrays. My art has a touch of the whimsical and fantasy. My art should describe what I felt at the moment of its creation….my history; but most of all my soul. ~Morena Bohemia Art
