October 2017, Friday the 13th – Morena Bohemia Art Gallery opened it’s doors!

The Morena Bohemia Art Gallery is the newest addition to Historic Old Towne Petersburg and is the first full-time fine art gallery in the area. The stylishly minimalist gallery exhibits emerging, mid-career and established artists creating contemporary works on paper, paintings, fine art photography, pottery, encaustic and assemblage. The mission of the Morena Bohemia Art Gallery is to bridge various artist communities and provide its artists greater exposure to new markets.

The opening exhibited artists from around Virginia and North Carolina. The featured artist was Glenda Shuleeta of Richmond and and in addition to some of my own work, we highlighted pottery from Dan and Kathi Blackmon from North Carolina, a Jewelery collection by Jennifer Schold-Fore and contemporary art by Jasmine Milles.

I want to bring in different mediums, like sculptors and hope to expand to music, and cover different areas of Art.

While the front of the gallery will feature artwork, the back room has a special gift shop, offering everything from small to large, to wearable art that can be shared at home or on the go.
